I’m back with the exciting news of the purchase of our 1931 fairy-tale Tudor of a house!
Dark woodwork, rounded doors, leaded-glass windows, a balcony tucked under the eaves, gold wallpaper rich with pink luscious blossoms in the darkened staircase, the pile of skeleton keys like delicate, shiny, bones of silver, an overgrown garden hedged by tall evergreens and prickly raspberry bushes, heavy with ripe red .
The house itself has this spectacular energy; it feels storied in a particularly sensuous way.
I wanted to do a photo spread Diana Vreeland-style with a deeply realized theme that captured some of the architecture, essence, and spirit of this great house…
So I landed on witches. Witches throughout the ages and across all strata of history, lore, and pop culture. What could be more storied and more sensuous! Enjoy…
