I realize I haven’t posted for quite some time, fellow Quirkers, but lately all my free time has consisted of apartment searching and shopping for said apartment (the latter being the fun part hehe;P). Interior decorating has replaced fashion in the forefront of my mind, so it dawned on me that I should share this creative process on Quirk! Isn’t home decorating just an extension of our personal style after all??
First off, a few important insights. When you’re a young adult thinking about furnishing your first apartment or home, don’t opt for cookie cutter, throwaway furniture. Hit up estate sales or local resale shops and invest in heirlooms that will last way longer than your lease. Also, DON’T leave your space (esp. walls) blank & boring! Instead, “collect things you love, and your house becomes your story” (Country Living). You know that gorgeous room you were just drooling over on Pinterest? Don’t just ‘pin’ it, LIVE IN IT!
You really can surround yourself with things that make you happy, you really can live in a space that has your personality written all over it, and you really can do it on a small budget! Stay tuned for tips on how to “Adore Your Apartment” and to watch my personal design process unfold!♥
